Principles

As the diagram shows, cutting thicker steel requires less number of teeth in order to easily discharge swarf and to avoid welding.
Cutting milder steel also requires less number of teeth because swarf tends to be longer and prevents clog with the swarf.
Greater number of teeth makes cut surface smoother and prevents the formation of ragged edges on workpieces.
